Rocker Profiles
What Is Rocker?
Rocker is the upward curve of a board that you can see when looking at the board from the side. There are two places you'll find rocker in a SUP: the tail and the nose. In some cases, the rocker can "carry" well into the middle of the board's length.
From the beginning we set out to make the highest performing inflatables on the market. Rocker profile is one of the most important characteristics for any SUP and is unique to the thesis of each shape. Our precisely manufactured, performance-oriented rockers are one way Hala's boards outperform the competition.
That said, we use four rocker profile types to begin to describe how we think of rocker while shaping high performance inflatable SUPs.
River

River Rocker
Hala’s River Rocker curves precisely from tip-to-tail for superior maneuvarability and surfability. Punch big holes, surf small pockets and big river waves, and hop eddy fences like a pro.
Surf

Surf Rocker
Hala’s Surf Rocker highlights the minimal rise in the tail of our Glide Rocker and the precise curve in the nose of our River Rocker, setting your center of balance a little farther back to allow the nose to naturally stand tall. This provides the perfect mixture of speed and manuevaerability on the face of any wave!
balance

Progressive Rocker
Hala's Progressive Rocker is designed to be playful in the waves and snappy along the river. The nose rocker is punchy, the middle is reasonably flat, and tail rocker gives you quick directional control, striking a balance between the sportiness of the River Rocker and the speed of the Glide Rocker.
Glide

Glide Rocker
Hala’s Glide Rocker features a mellow nose rocker, a flat middle for traction, and minimal tail rocker for optimized glide and speed. Yet, it keeps enough maneuverability for responsiveness in any environment. Feel the speed with our glide rocker.
